I just loved Megan's style for this vintage inspired wedding at Brookside Farms. Copper and sage green were the main colors but grays and pastels added romantic touches. When I found out that Megan brought her vintage couch for sunset pictures, I was thrilled. We had a gorgeous sunset and they just glowed! Thankful to share such a beautiful day with the two of them and I'm positive they will have a bright future!
Courtney and Ryan are the kind of couple that everyone wants to be around. They are always laughing and having fun and, even better, making sure that everyone around them is as well. What I love most though, is how they obviously belong together. I love the way Ryan looks at Courtney and they way her eyes light up when she's with him. October 10 was the perfect fall day. Color was finally starting to show on the trees and the weather was amazing! Hoover Park was a great backdrop for their gorgeous plum and burnt orange and rustic theme. I knew I was going to love this wedding. When I first met Melissa last year she had a scrapbook filled to the brim with magazine clippings, photos, notes, even fabric samples! She had a very clear vision of what she wanted. Last week when I walked in the door at The Barn and Gazebo it was amazing to see those ideas come to life. Talk about details! Billy and Melissa love hunting together. I am not exaggerating when I say together (Melissa shot her first buck a week before their wedding)! To convey their passion for hunting, they wanted to incorporate antlers as the main theme of their wedding (Billy's wedding ring is actually made from real deer antlers ).
Laurie with Laurie's Back Porch floral did a wonderful job of turning Melissa's vision into reality with lovely wild flowers. Old farmhouse windows displayed photos from the couples' engagement session (link coming soon!) An old picket fence held lace hankies for guests to "dry their tears". Family and friends collected vintage dishes and silverware throughout the year to serve as place settings at the reception. Antique furniture (even an antique stove!), was brought in to hold the desserts and add to the homey feeling. The rustic, antler themed invitations were created by Kaylen and Rant and Rave Invitations.
Another very apparent thread in this wedding was Billy and Melissa's love for their family. Their cake was Billy's mom's homemade apple cake and zucchini bread (yum)! Guests went away with mason jars of Melissa's grandmother's homemade strawberry rhubarb jam. Speaking of Grandma, she actually officiated the ceremony! What a gift that was to Billy and Melissa, and I'm sure Grandma Barbie was honored to do it!
All of these beautiful details created a lovely backdrop for this wonderful couple to say their vows. Enjoy the photos!
Oh these two! They are truly meant to be! Dan's intensity is a strong contrast to Leanne's 'chill' personality, but spend some time with them and you will realize that they are truly two halves to a whole, balancing each other out in the most amazing way. On the morning of their wedding, it was the groom who called, concerned about the weather (eighty percent chance of non stop rain, starting at the exact time we were to begin pictures)!
The venue for the ceremony was the stunningOverlook at Twin Lakes and they wanted some pictures in a nearby park after their First Look. We discussed alternative locations and even moving up the timeline, but inevitably, we decided to keep things rolling and hope for the best! Amazingly, the rain held out until after all of our pictures were finished! Although we did have to move the ceremony inside, because this couple chose to do a First Look, we were able to get so many beautiful images beforehand with NO RAIN! Speaking of the First Look...this one was one of my all time favorites! Dan's reaction to seeing Leanne for the first time was so sweet. You can really see how much he adores her! LOVED being a part of capturing that moment!
After the ceremony, we headed over to the Kent State Hotel for a fun cocktail hour and reception! As the Maid of Honor said during her toast, the Bride and Groom, although different in many ways, share a love of helping people, and you could see that by the many friends and loved ones present that evening! Leanne and Dan, we truly enjoyed being a part of your wedding! Enjoy your preview!
Everyone knows I love a rustic wedding-they never get old! Maybe it's because these"shabby chic" events seem to bring out the creativity in people. It could also be that the locations are my kind of beautiful. Kristen and Kyle started dating in high school (over 11 years ago!) and, other than one three month long break-up, have been together ever since. They have a sweet familiarity between them, and their differences balance together beautifully.
This was my first time at a very up-and-coming barn venue, Peacock Ridge. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint, especially at sunset! Brides and Grooms, if you are looking for a stunning rustic venue for your wedding, make sure to check this place out! The gorgeous florals were provided Cummings Florist. Although it was a sweltering night, DJ Donnie from On the Mic Entertainment kept the dance floor full and hopping all night long! AND (I know I'll get questions about this), instead of a traditional cake, this fun couple opted for donuts! Peace, Love, and Little Donuts created tiny little masterpieces for each guest. So fun!
I have said it before but I somehow have been blessed to work with the most amazing couples and families. Michael and Jessica are two of the most kind and genuine people we've worked with. Not only was it evident in the love they have for each other, but the genuine kindness they show to their friends and family. This was our first time at this venue in Cleveland and I have to say, I am *in love* with Hanna Garden at Western Reserve Historical Society! The European inspired garden was the perfect backdrop for Jessica and Michael's classic/romantic styled wedding. Ariel International Skyline Room provided some breathtaking views of the Cleveland Skyline. Take a peek!
